Jamie Raskin says Trump ‘essentially’ admitted to January 6 crimes

The Jan. 6 select committee subpoenaed never-before-seen footage of a documentary filmmaker who had access to Donald Trump and his entourage around the time of the 2020 election.

In his subpoena to Alex Holder, which was first published by Politics, the committee calls for any raw footage shot from January 6, 2021 that features a discussion of voter fraud or election integrity or features interviews with Mr. Trump, his children or Mike Pence. Mr. Holder agreed. Some of Mr Trump’s own aides seem blindsided by news that a camera crew has gained access to the former president and his family.

The committee is today focusing on two pivotal states for its fourth public hearing, which will tell the story of Mr. Trump’s efforts to personally lobby lawmakers in Georgia and Arizona to reverse his defeat in their respective states.

Mr. Trump, meanwhile, turned to Truth Social to attack the committee again. Ridiculating him as a victim of “Trump Derangement Syndrome, he fumed that “crazy” Democrats are “playing the ridiculous insurrection card” because of his supposedly strong poll.

Mr. Bowers testified that demonstrators showed up several times outside his home, calling him a pedophile and pervert, some armed, threatening him and his neighbors.

The protests took place while her adult daughter was at home suffering from a terminal illness.

“It’s the new pattern in our lives to worry about what’s going to happen on Saturday because we have different groups coming through,” says Mr Bowers.

“A gentleman who had the three bars on his chest and who had a gun…when I saw the gun I knew I had to come closer.”

The audience now takes a short break.

In a video explaining what the committee found in reference to “fake voters,” Cassidy Hutchinson, Trump’s White House aide, told investigators that among those discussing the idea were Rudy Giuliani, aides to Giuliani, Mark Meadows and members of Congress.

The RNC aided Trump with the fake voter scheme, according to the video.

RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in videotaped deposition: ‘My understanding is that the campaign took the lead and we were just helping them in that role.

The committee also received testimony from a former aide to Mr. Meadows who said the White House attorney’s office told him and Giuliani that the fake voter program was not legally valid.

In addition, the committee has texts showing that Senator Ron Johnson wanted to give Vice President Pence the false electoral certificates.

“Don’t give him that,” a senior Pence official told a Johnson staffer.

Mr Bowers said conservative Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona had asked him to support efforts to overturn the election.

“I said I wouldn’t,” says Bowers.

Mr Bowers says John Eastman asked him to overturn the election results and let the courts decide.

“You are asking me to do something that has never been done in the history of the United States and I am going to do this to my state without sufficient evidence?”

Under pressure from protesters, committee shows video of Jacob Chansley, the ‘Q-Anon shaman’, who was going to storm the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 to protest inside the state capitol of arizona.

Trump campaign lawyer says president wants state legislatures to overturn results ‘right after the election’

Donald Trump wanted state legislatures to overturn the 2020 election results “right after the election,” a Trump campaign lawyer told the Jan. 6 Committee.

The committee received an email two days after the election in which Trump campaign lawyer Cleta Mitchell asked fellow lawyer Dr. John Eastman: “John – What do you think of the production of a legal memorandum outlining the constitutional role of state legislators in elector designation?”

During a pre-recorded deposition, Ms Mitchell was quizzed by a House Select Committee staff member when she first recalled the upcoming strategy.

“Right after the elections. Maybe it was before the election,” she said.

In later conversations with Giuliani, Mr. Bowers said the president’s attorney had said of voter fraud: “We have many theories, we just don’t have the evidence.”

“Afterwards, we laughed a little about it,” says Mr. Bowers

President Bowers says Trump has asked to remove and replace Biden voters, to which Bowers said, “I’ve never heard of such a thing…you’re asking me to do something that goes to the ‘against my oath’ to the Constitution.

He adds: “A supporter of my faith that the constitution is divinely inspired. Of my most basic core beliefs. So for someone to ask me to do it simply because he asked me to is foreign to my very being. I’m not going to do it.”

Mr. Bowers recalls a phone conversation with Trump and Giuliani in which the president’s lawyer said hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and deceased people had voted.

He asked for evidence that Trump ordered Giuliani to provide.

Mr. Bowers never received any evidence.
