NEW YORK–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) – The New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NY) today announced its 2022 President, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The Chapter elected Aaron Kwittken, Founder and CEO of PROphet, 2021 President. Carmella Glover, Diversity Action Alliance (DAA) President and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) at Page, was also elected today as President-elect 2022.
Kwittken is the Founder and CEO of PROphet, an AI-powered SaaS public relations platform supported by Stagwell Global. Prior to PROphet, Aaron founded KWT Global in 2005 (f / k / a Kwittken), a highly regarded global public relations and branding firm with offices in New York, London, Chicago and Los Angeles, where he is currently. global president of the agency. He is the former President of the Americas of the International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO), a former board member of the PR Council, a former assistant professor at New York University, and a former Forbes contributor.
Upon his appointment, Kwittken said: âAs one of the oldest chapters in the country celebrating our 75th anniversary alongside the national ASRP in 2022, it will be a year of transformation for our members and our industry as we pass. from a pandemic to an endemic. Glover is President of the Diversity Action Alliance (DAA) and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) at Page. DAA is a cross-sectoral coalition led by professional communications organizations with a mission to accelerate progress towards meaningful and tangible achievements in diversity, equity and inclusion on the ground for people of color. In partnership with the DAA Board of Directors, she oversees the operations, programs, budget and strategic plan of the organization. In her role as page, she provides strategic direction for DE&I initiatives of members and staff. Prior to her current role, Carmella was the very first Executive Director of the PRSA Foundation. She oversaw the budget, compliance, programs and operations of the diversity charitable arm of the PRSA.

Next year, PRSA-NY will continue to build on its goal of accelerating diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across the industry. Starting in the first quarter of 2022, membership in PRSA-NY will be pronoun inclusive to increase representation among members and celebrate who they are and what makes them unique. PRSA-NY is the first nationwide chapter to institute pronoun inclusiveness and will continue to build on these efforts. This year, PRSA-NY announced its first âDriving DEI Forwardâ summit, which included sessions with CEOs, executives and other influential industry voices. The summit reinforced the importance of intersectional representation in public relations and the role of public relations organizations and practitioners in promoting fairness in the industry.
The 2021 Nominating Committee was responsible for selecting the Board of Directors and this committee was chaired by Kellie Jelencovich, Past President of PRSA-NY and RP for Internova / Global Travel Collection. The seven-person committee consisted of Jelencovich; Aaron Kwittken, President-elect of PRSA-NY, Founder and CEO of PROphet and President of KWT Global; Kate Ryan, US Managing Director of Diffusion; Terrell Merritt, digital and editorial strategy assistant for The City University of New York; Art Stevens, Managing Partner of The Stevens Group; Leslie Gottlieb, president of LG Strategic Communications; and Sandra Fathi, Chief Strategy Officer of Gregory FCA.
PRSA-NY’s mission is to lead, educate, coach and inspire public relations and communications professionals to advance their knowledge, skills and careers. The 2022 Board of Directors embodies this mission and will continue to elevate it through the Section’s programs, events and initiatives.
