LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sarah Hempstead, CEO and Director of Schmidt Associates and Chair of the Board of Junior Achievement of Central Indiana, received the Gold Leadership Award from Junior Achievement USA.
The award is the organization’s highest national honor for volunteerism and recognizes excellence, presented in recognition of leadership in supporting and expanding student impact, resources, operational excellence and of JA’s sustainability. The Gold Leadership Award honors Hempstead’s service during the 2020-21 school year.
“It is a huge honor to receive this prestigious award. As a servant leader, I am passionate about inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in the global economy,” Hempstead said. “When we educate and empower others, we fulfill JA’s mission while shaping future leaders to nurture local communities.”
Junior Achievement’s entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness programs are delivered across the country – typically in classrooms during the school day, by volunteer role models like Hempstead who are respected community leaders.
