Empowered 4 Life Golf Tournament

Empowered4Life, a local nonprofit, is hosting a fundraiser for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Cancer & Blood Disorder Center. The scramble-format tournament will take place at the Coweta Club, located at 300 Arbor Springs Parkway. Lunch is included and there will be a Million Dollar Hole in One contest. The Gallery Vault: Infinite Weight / Present Stories

The Vault Gallery at Wadsworth Auditorium is hosting an opening reception for “Infinite Weight/Present Histories”, a photography collection developed with the aim of bringing contemporary photography to new audiences. The exhibit has been cultivated to captivate and inspire, amaze and engage local communities in West Georgia, Metro Atlanta, the Greater Southeast, and University of West Georgia students. Regular gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 2-6 p.m.

Newnan’s Oktoberfest celebration is designed to bring beer lovers downtown to enjoy an evening of Georgian craft beer tasting. Over 30 participating downtown businesses are extending their hours of operation and hospitality to downtown guests to serve as tasting locations for the different varieties of craft beer available for sampling. Downtown businesses offer free refreshments, retail specials and other goodies to all Oktoberfest guests. Main Street Newnan is releasing a limited number of 500 Oktoberfest tickets for drinkers which are available for purchase. Tickets usually sell out a week before the event. Participation in the Oktoberfest festivities is free for non-drinking attendees. Blues Plate Special

The annual Blues Plate Special will take place at Greenville Street Park, with all proceeds going to Meals On Wheels Of Coweta. The event features food trucks, door prizes and live music will include sets from Kris Youmans Band, Frankies Blues Mission, Leonard Washington, John Hensley Band, Mary Claire Martin and The Eric Culberson Band.
