Volunteer as a fresh produce gleaner

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa needs volunteer gleaners. The gleaning program provides fresh produce to homeless shelters. Volunteers are needed between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. daily, Monday through Saturday. Volunteers can choose the gleaning location and day of the week on a weekly basis. A registration form is sent every Saturday/Sunday by e-mail.

Volunteer as a cat trapper

The Forgotten Cats of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa is looking for volunteers to trap feral cats and get them to be neutered. Volunteers must be able to transport a trapped cat, have a vehicle, be at least 18 years old, and be able to stoop/lean/kneel on the ground. A teen volunteer will need to work with their parent or guardian. Training will be provided.

Overnight assistance in Sonoma

Volunteer as a food preparer

Sonoma Overnight Support in Sonoma is looking for volunteers to help serve the hungry and homeless in Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley. The organization currently serves approximately 240 meals a day at Sonoma Springs Community Hall. Volunteers will work in the kitchen to prepare and package food. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Stewards of the Coast and the Redwoods

Become a seal monitoring volunteer

Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is looking for volunteers to walk Goat Rock Beach and help protect harbor seals. Volunteers educate beach visitors about the animals, their history, their international protection under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and conservation efforts in general. Shifts are four hours each on weekends. Training is needed and provided.
